Our Mission
"Our mission is to design bespoke custom homes tailored to our clients' distinct visions and lifestyles. Through close collaboration, innovative design, and enduring relationships, we transform personal ideas into inspiring living spaces that enrich the surrounding community."
About Reynard Architectural Designs
Reynard Architectural Designs was born from a shared vision in 2020, when our co-founders James Knight, Jack Baldwin, and Kalyn Kight first met while working at a commercial design firm in Atlanta.
While the commercial world prioritized efficiency, they saw a missing piece in the residential market: a truly collaborative, client-first design experience.
In 2021, REYNARD was launched to bridge that gap. By combining James’s architectural vision, Jack’s client advocacy, and Kalyn’s visual storytelling, they created a firm that brings homes to life.
Today, our team bridges continents and disciplines to deliver architecturally distinct homes across the Southeast, grounded in transparency, technology, and a deep respect for our clients' dreams.

When 2020 brought unexpected challenges, it also opened doors. Amid the uncertainty of the pandemic, the three partners discovered their passion for collaborating with clients to design inspired, one-of-a-kind homes. Fueled by the joy of turning dreams into reality, Reynard Custom Homes was officially established that year.
What started as a professional connection quickly evolved into a shared vision: to redefine custom home design by creating spaces that truly reflect each homeowner's individual aesthetics, budget, and lifestyle.
Whether it's a cozy retreat or a sprawling estate, every home matters because every home has a story.
Crafting Exceptional Spaces for Life and Leisure
At Reynard Architectural Designs, we don't just design homes—we bring your unique vision to life, using it as the foundational blueprint for everything we create. We are an architectural design firm specializing in the extraordinary, from fully custom private residences to highly lucrative, luxury short-term vacation rentals.
Our portfolio spans diverse landscapes and concepts—whether that means drafting a modern mountain lodge in the North Georgia highlands, a sleek contemporary home in the heart of the city, or a short term rental investment treehouse. From the first sketch to the final build, our comprehensive, start-to-finish architectural services ensure your dream structure becomes a stunning reality.
We serve a diverse clientele united by one common goal: the desire for an extraordinary space. For individuals and families, we design "forever homes" that beautifully accommodate your daily life, built to create a legacy for generations of memories.
For real estate investors and entrepreneurs, we understand that in the competitive vacation rental market, "ordinary" is the enemy of occupancy. We design experiential, high-return short-term rentals that stand out on booking platforms and keep guests coming back. While our roots run deep in the scenic landscapes of Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee, our design capabilities extend to clients worldwide.
Our guiding philosophy is simple: Every home tells a story.
Your home should be a direct reflection of your unique lifestyle, site, and aspirations. We do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach; instead, we are driven entirely by your budget, your style, and your specific needs. We seamlessly blend bold aesthetics with everyday practicality, ensuring that every sweeping roof line, expansive window, and custom floor plan serves a distinct purpose. Because we frequently design for breathtaking natural environments, we also prioritize harmony between the architecture and the land, maximizing panoramic views, natural light, and effortless indoor-outdoor connectivity.
Our Design Process: From Spark to Blueprint
Building a custom home is a deeply personal journey, and our collaborative process is designed to make every step feel clear, inspiring, and seamless. Here is how we bring your vision to life:
-
Discovery & Site Consultation: We start by listening to your goals, daily routines, aesthetic preferences, and budget while evaluating your building site's topography, natural light, and neighborhood context.
-
Conceptual & Schematic Design: Using your vision as our guide, we translate ideas into initial floor plans, spatial layouts, and 3D massing studies so you can visualize how your future home will flow and feel.
-
Design Development: Through collaborative feedback sessions, we refine the selected concept—defining exterior architectural details, interior elevations, structural systems, and material palettes.
-
Construction Documentation: Our team produces comprehensive, high-precision architectural blueprints and engineering specifications required for permitting, accurate builder bidding, and construction.
-
Builder Collaboration & Construction Observation: We work alongside your chosen contractor throughout the build, answering technical questions and conducting site visits to ensure the finished home stays true to the design.

Client-Centered Collaboration: Great architecture begins with listening; we treat our clients as creative partners at every stage of the design journey.

Bespoke Innovation: We reject one-size-fits-all templates, blending forward-thinking design with practical functionality to craft spaces as distinct as the people who live in them.

Enduring Relationships: Trust, transparency, and open communication guide our process, turning complex builds into seamless, rewarding experiences.
-
Community Stewardship: Every home exists within a larger context, so we design residences that respect their environment and contribute lasting beauty to the neighborhood.
