Every project at Reynard Architectural Designs begins with a unique vision. When working with architect James Knight, our goal is to translate that vision into a structural reality that balances form and function. Nowhere is this balance more critical than in the bathroom—a space that requires precision in materials and a grand perspective in style.
We are often asked, "Which style is right for my home?" The answer lies in your core values: Do you crave the warmth of natural walnut, the industrial edge of "cabin-chic" shiplap, or the sleek symmetry of a contemporary suite?
Today, we’re showcasing six diverse bathroom designs from our recent custom builds to help you identify the features that speak to your soul.

1.Master Bath Minimalist Sanctuary
This design epitomizes the "less is more" philosophy, focusing on clean lines and a serene, organic palette. The architecture allows natural light to be the primary accessory, pouring in through a classic gridded window.
Key Features: A deep, matte-white freestanding soaking tub serves as the room’s anchor. Minimalist recessed oak shelving provides a warm, functional "niche" for spa essentials.
Style and Inspiration: Japandi / Organic Modern. Minimalist bathroom design, freestanding soaking tub, Japandi style, organic modern interior, custom oak shelving, spa-like bathroom.
Materials: Light oak wood, matte porcelain, and natural stone countertops.

2. The High-Drama Marble Retreat
Architecturally bold, this space utilizes verticality and high-contrast textures to create a luxury hotel feel. The seamless transition from the shower to the vanity area makes the room feel expansive and cohesive.
Key Features: Full-height marble slab walls with dramatic grey and gold veining. A zero-entry glass shower with a pebble-stone floor and a sleek black rain showerhead. The vanity features fluted cabinetry—a major trend in custom home design.
Style and Inspiration: Modern Luxury / Transitional. Luxury marble bathroom, fluted vanity cabinets, walk-in glass shower, rain showerhead, pebble shower floor, high-end bathroom architecture.
Materials: Calacatta marble, river pebble tile, fluted wood vanity, and brushed bronze fixtures.

3. The Vaulted "Mountain Modern" Suite
This design leans into the classic Reynard aesthetic: warm woods paired with sharp, modern architectural silhouettes. The vaulted ceiling creates an airy, grand atmosphere that prevents the dark wood tones from feeling heavy.
Key Features: A massive double vanity with raised-panel walnut cabinetry and arched black-framed mirrors. A modern oval tub sits directly under a large black-framed window, offering views of the surrounding forest.
Style and Inspiration: Mountain Modern / Contemporary Craftsman. Mountain modern bathroom, vaulted ceiling bathroom, arched bathroom mirrors, walnut double vanity, forest view tub, contemporary custom home.
Materials: Walnut wood, quartz countertops, matte black hardware, and luxury vinyl plank (LVP) or engineered hardwood flooring.

4. The Rustic "Cabin-Chic" Powder Room
Small in footprint but massive in personality, this design showcases how James Knight uses texture to create intimacy. It feels like a high-end mountain retreat, blending raw elements with futuristic tech.
Key Features: Horizontal shiplap walls in a natural wash. A floating thick-cut wood vanity is topped with a backlit LED "halo" mirror. Industrial cage lighting adds a touch of vintage flair.
Style and Inspiration: Rustic Modern / Industrial Cabin. Rustic modern bathroom, backlit bathroom mirror, shiplap bathroom walls, industrial bathroom lighting, custom cabin vanity.
Materials: Pine shiplap, reclaimed wood, black granite or quartz, and wrought iron accents.

5. The Timeless Executive Suite
Balance and symmetry define this master bath. The use of a central "tower" cabinet provides smart architectural storage while creating a clear "his and hers" zone for the homeowners.
Key Features: Symmetrical double vanity with a vertical storage tower. Gold-toned fixtures and radius-corner mirrors provide a soft, elegant contrast to the sharp lines of the cabinetry.
Style and Inspiration: Classic Contemporary / New Traditional. Symmetrical bathroom vanity, gold bathroom fixtures, bathroom storage tower, timeless bathroom design, custom cabinetry.
Materials: Cherry or Mahogany stained wood, brushed gold hardware, and white polished marble.

6. The Coastal Shiplap Spa
This design focuses on texture and tranquility. The combination of white shiplap and soft woven textures creates a breezy, coastal-inspired environment that feels incredibly inviting.
Key Features: A unique fluted-exterior freestanding tub. The floor features a sea-glass style pebble mosaic that feels wonderful underfoot. Roman shades in a natural jute material add a soft, organic touch.
Style and Inspiration: Coastal Modern / Transitional. Fluted soaking tub, white shiplap bathroom, coastal bathroom design, pebble tile floor, custom window treatments.
Materials: Fluted acrylic, white shiplap, pebble tile flooring, and brushed nickel.

Which architectural style fits your custom home vision? Whether you prefer the dramatic marble of a luxury suite or the warm wood of a mountain retreat, Reynard’s collaboration with James Knight ensures your private spaces are as functional as they are beautiful.
