A Vision Rooted in Tradition

When our clients—a family with a deep appreciation for rustic elegance and contemporary comfort—approached Reynard Custom Homes, they had a clear vision: a home inspired by the classic Tennessee Farmhouse Cottage, set against the stunning backdrop of the North Georgia mountains. They wanted their new build to feel like it belonged to another era, yet work effortlessly for modern life. With our expertise and dedication, we were able to turn their vision into a reality, creating a home that truly reflects their unique style and needs.

Key to this vision were details steeped in Southern tradition, like the haint blue porch ceiling (believed to ward off spirits and insects) and wood floors destined to develop a lived-in patina. Architect James Knight worked hand-in-hand with the family, ensuring every element honored both their aesthetic and lifestyle needs.

Thoughtful Design, Inside and Out

From the moment you step onto the porch, Sugar Creek feels like home. The layout is as functional as it is beautiful:

  • Three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, including a serene master suite on the main level for easy living and privacy.

  • Finished basement with two additional bedrooms—ideal for family gatherings or guest retreats.

  • Four-season room that brings the outdoors in, offering year-round views and a cozy spot for relaxation.

  • Walk-in pantry, mudroom/laundry combo, and a dedicated work-from-home office—all designed for everyday luxury and convenience.

  • Detached three-car garage for ample storage and flexibility.

Every space is crafted to enhance daily living, from the sunlit kitchen to the practical mudroom. The four-season room is a particular favorite, letting the family enjoy mountain views in every season.

Materials That Tell a Story

At Reynard Custom Homes, we believe materials matter—they’re the foundation of a home’s soul. For Sugar Creek, every selection was made with care:

Exterior: A mix of horizontal siding and board and batten creates visual interest, grounded by a brick or stone sill that anchors the home to its landscape. Architectural asphalt shingles cover the main roof, while metal accents on the porch add rustic charm.

Interior: Laminate wood-look flooring offers warmth and durability on the main level, while plush carpeting softens the upstairs bedrooms. Bathrooms are finished with elegant tile for a touch of luxury.

  • Special touches: Dramatic stacked stone or tile fireplaces in the living room and master bedroom.

  • Faux ceiling beams for rustic flair.

  • Stone countertops and custom cabinetry in the kitchen, laundry, and mudroom.

  • A master bath with a showstopping stone feature wall and a unique glass door to an outdoor shower.

  • Custom vanities in the powder and upstairs baths, transforming utility spaces into styled retreats.
